I would like to invite you to discover my new collection of telescopes that are now available around the world. Not only because they are coupled with the best optics on the market but they are also reflecting the owner’s taste for work of art. My telescopes have won the ultimate awards at Stellafane and other telescope making competitions many times over the years and now are ready for your observatory or observing sessions in the field. Words or pictures cannot explain the charm of a wooden telescope. The warm sensation of a wooden instrument is unique and also has its advantages, like: it will reduce the effect of vibration, it is more stable with temperature changes and the movements couldn’t be any smoother! Many have tried to make wooden telescopes but they stopped halfway through the design. The “ Man in the Moon” altitude bearings that are hand carved on all the telescopes, gives the instrument life. Each type of wood is chosen for its moisture resistance, hardness, stability and shade to provide the ultimate combination that will satisfy any customer. Every part of the telescope is hand made and different from all the others, so you know your telescope is unique. The Dobsonian movements are made with “ Teflon on EbonyStar”, to have the best smoothness possible. Accessories like: handle on the OTA, eyepiece holder, cooling fan, rechargeable 12 volts battery, Baader sun filter, dust cover, “Moonlite” or” Feathertouch” focuser and wooden plug for the focuser are all standard on the telescopes. The inside of the OTA is covered with a rubberized textured coating to maximize the contrast and protect the wood. The outside of the OTA and the rest of the telescope is finished with 7 coats of Marine Spar varnish and 2 coats of polymer wax for a maximum protection against the weather. So the telescopes are not only for the looks they have in the living room but they are also built to withstand any type of observing weather. Before any work is done on a telescope, Normand will discuss all the details like the shade of wood, diameter, focal length, and special accessories with the customer to make sure he will enjoy his purchase to the fullest degree. |
